Nature at its best! Over 4000 acres of natural beauty in the tropical forest of the mountains, at the foot of Central America’s highest mountain, Mt. Chirripó, and the Chirripó National Park, Costa Rica.

Talamanca Reserve offers convenient hiking paths throughout the property which are much easier to climb than the park paths, and just as beautiful; plus, all the convenience of a first class restaurant and cabins.

The international cuisine in the gourmet restaurant is prepared by professional and multilingual chefs Bernie and Laura, two of the nicest people you will ever meet (and can they cook!). The restaurant is very attractive, large but comfortable and cozy.

The restaurant and the Talamanca bar are open every day until 11:00 PM.

There is a quaint bar, lounge and a fireplace. Books and magazines in English and French are available. From the second floor of this beautiful restaurant, one can look out over the mountains for miles of unbelievable beauty (as if the gardens surrounding the restaurant aren’t enough).

Evenings at Talamanca are special times to sit around the fireplace and practice the friendly art of conversation with other guests from all over the globe.

Ten modern efficient cabins all with private bath, hot water, double and single beds are set in a set in a beautiful garden area and are very private. Cots are also available for children or extra person.

Talamanca Reserve offers miles and miles of awesome beauty. Walking tours and ATV tours are available. The ATV’s are new, automatic, and very easy to use. Guides will be with you at all times on the ATV trails, or you can hoof it through the paths with a guide.  Of course, there is always the Chirripo National Park to climb (the starting path is just about 1 kilometer from our gate). Advance reservations are necessary. There are also natural thermal baths available in the area.

A friendly attitude exists throughout the Reserve. We are dedicated to preserve what nature has given us. We do not permit any hunting of animals, nor picking or gathering of plants. We believe that through tourism we can preserve and extend the natural beauty of the wonderful diverse flora and fauna in this fine country.
